Loadshedding and Energy Savers

(Farah zaheer, Karachi)

The Energy Shortfall Has Increased And Because Of This Loadshedding Is Carried Out In The Country. Tube Lights Are Being Used Excessively In Government Offices, Residential Houses, Colleges, Schools And Other Places.  Tube-Lights Consume Almost 40 Watts Whereas Energy Saver, Which Gives Equal Light, Consumes 24 Watts. For Example, In A Schools Where 200 Tube-Lights Are Used, Approximately 8,000 Watts Are Consumed And If These Tube-Lights Are Replaced By 24 Watt Energy Savers, Then Only 4,800 Watts Will Be Consumed, Thereby Saving 3,200 Watts.

This Change Taking Place On A Large Scale Will Save A Lot Of Energy. The Government Has Started The Scheme Of Giving Free Energy Savers To Consumers.  I Think That Instead Of Giving Energy Savers To Consumers, The Government Must First Change Tube-Lights With Energy Savers In Government Offices. This Will Save A Lot Of Energy.

The Government Must Also Build Up Wind Turbines So That Electricity Can Be Available At A Cheap Rate; It Will Also Be Environment-Friendly.
