Shadab Khan is Pakistan’s trump card for World Cup 2023, says Matthew Hayden

Matthew Hayden, former Australian cricketer and batting consultant for Pakistan in the recent T20 World Cup, believes Shadab Khan will be a match-winner in the upcoming World Cup 2023 in India. Hayden praised Shadab Khan as a three-dimensional cricketer and a fantastic player.

Hayden compared Shadab Khan to India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who is known for his batting, bowling, and fielding skills. He said that Shadab Khan had improved his hard-hitting skills and had also shown fantastic variations with the ball in white-ball cricket recently.

Hayden said that Shadab Khan had great variations with the ball and could bowl in different phases of the game. He said that Shadab Khan could also bat at different positions and could score quick runs when needed. Further, he said that Shadab Khan was also a wonderful fielder and could save runs and take catches in the field.

Hayden said that fielding was a crucial aspect of winning World Cups, as it could make a difference in close matches. He said that fielding efforts such as catches around the boundaries, unique run-outs, and direct hits were the things that could not be statistically noted in the World Cup but could change the outcome of the game.

Mathew Hayden praised Shadab Khan for his performance in the T20 World Cup, where he took 10 wickets in seven matches at an average of 17.90 and an economy rate of 6.57. He also scored 76 runs at a strike rate of 133.33. He said that Shadab Khan was one of the key members of the Pakistan team in white-ball cricket and had been displaying outstanding all-around performance for years.
