Umar Gul might be Pakistan’s new bowling coach

Umar Gul said that the PCB has not approached him yet. Still, he expressed that it would be an honour for him to work with the Pakistan team again.

Morne Morkel, the bowling coach for the Pakistan men’s cricket team, has stepped down from his position. The former South African fast bowler, who signed a six-month contract in June, began his tenure with the team during their two-match Test series in Sri Lanka.

Umar Gul’s career

Umar Gul, born on April 14, 1984, has been a prominent figure in Pakistani cricket, representing the country in all three formats of the game. As a skilled right-arm fast-medium bowler, he is widely recognized as one of Pakistan’s most successful bowlers.

Gul made his ODI debut at the age of 19 on April 3, 2003, against Zimbabwe, contributing with two crucial wickets in his team’s victory by 68 runs. His breakthrough moment came during the 2003-04 series against India, particularly in the Lahore Test, where he showcased his prowess by claiming a five-wicket haul while conceding just 31 runs.
