Macaroon
Macaroons fall under the sweet category or confectionery. It is made from coconut and egg white. These are crisp, biscuit like, a combination of cream to brown color. Sometimes ground or powdered almonds or any other nut is used instead of coconut. Sugar is also one of the active ingredients added. Due to the process of heating and caramelization, the cookies turn brown in color. Sugar also aids in providing body and soft texture to the macaroons.
