Philosophy Of Love

(Sadia Khalid, Lahore)

Love is a natural emotion or a feeling which is a blessing, natural phenomenon and gift of Allah. It is not necessary that we only love those who are our blood relations in fact we can love anyone to whom we feel affectionate. Generally talking it is very natural to love our parents but sometimes a child does not develop love relation to his parents. There are many reasons behind it, commonly it is due to lack of understanding, care, affection and a great gap of communication. Sometimes as life is like a complex formula and no one ever solve it and in such circumstances, misunderstanding created between parents and child and child feel insecure and thus he become distracted from the love of his parents. But this particular thing happens in very rare cases because parent’s love is unconditional, shelter for children, beautiful gift so there is no alternative for it. The most remarkable thing in the love of parents is that it is not selfish one and pray, pray is the only thing they do. Love is based on five things.

1. Understanding
2. Trust
3. Loyalty
4. Compromise
5. Sacrifice

Parent’s love is combination of these all things as it is a saying:” Chances makes your parents and choice makes your friend.”

In our life, we indulge ourselves in two kinds of relations one are those who bestowed on us by our very own destiny and others are those we choose.

Friendship is the first and last step of love. Some people believe that liking a person is love or it is a beginning of love. But liking a person is completely different from loving. We meet many people in our life and we also like most of them because of their look, talking style, dressing or may be ideology or thinking. Some people also believe in love at first sight but it’s not applicable for a long lasting and eternal love. Liking a person does not mean that person is worthy of being a good friend, trust or able to sacrifice and compromise. Love is such an entity in which compatibility between two souls is very vital. No matter how different there are in their character, personality, qualities but they should understand each other in a way that they could predict each other plans, thoughts and emotions. Their trust should be like a hard rock. A love relation will nourish more and more when compromises and sacrifices made to see each other happy. Love will only remain pure and eternal when we understand its true meaning and perfect love is indeed very rare.

“To be a lover will require the subtlety of the very wise, the flexibility of the child, the sensitivity of the artist, the understanding of the philosopher, the acceptance of the saint, the tolerance of the scholar and the fortitude of the certain.” Life is meaningless and incomplete without love. Love is most charming and pleasing feeling in the whole world. “Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, loving someone deeply gives you courage.” There is only one happiness in life to love and be loved. To love and to be loved are the splendid joys on earth. Love is patient and kind, love is not jealous or boastful, it is not arrogant or rude. So to have a pure love of friend, partner, parents make our life worth living. Love is the greatest truth and it is the best thing to happen in a life.
