With US’s help, Israel has grown to be most powerful modern state” once the current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyaho said in Congress. Another Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin said in Congress “ No words can express our gratitude for your support, cooperation and understanding””. USA is a great benefactor to Israel indeed. They are the one who rescued Israel during their Financial crisis. If Israel has military and economically dominance in the middle east, it is because of US.

US military assistance has strengthened Israel in War time. From 1949-1965 Israeli received $63 Million annually from US. From 1966-1970 they received $102 million annually. And in 1973 they received $634.6 million . Israel was the largest annual recipient of US foreign assistance from 1976-2004. In 1990s US gave loan of $10 Billion for settling Jewish Soviets in Israel.As of 2005, US direct Military and economics assistance is $154 Billions. In 2019 Israel received $3.8 billion military assistance form US. Israel Is the cumulative recipient of aid ($146 billion, not inflation-adjusted) since World War II . Most importantly, Israel is the only recipient of US Economic aid that not have to account how it is spent. Taking about other’s countries aid, they are given aid for specific projects like health , democracy promotion and education. And they have to account for it.

The most prerequisite thing is that besides US State, US Jewish citizens also help Israel. Israel receives $2 billion annually from US citizens. Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres said “ Wealthy Jews in US helped finance for nuclear program in 1950s and 1960s. There are different Groups in US like Friends of IDF (Israeli Defense Force) who raise funds in US to support social, educational , cultural and other facilities for men and women soldiers of Israel who defended Jewish Homeland. One of that report said they raised almost $18 Million. There is another organization named WZO ( World Zionist Organization) who receive money from prominent Jewish organization all over the World. American money rescued Israel during their financial crisis. Now Israel has a fat purse.

Besides military and Economic aid, US help Israel diplomatically. Between 1972 -2006, Washington vetoed 42 UNSC resolutions that were critical of Israel out of a total 83 times in which its veto has ever been used .Between 1991 and 2011, 15 vetoes were used to protect Israel out of 24 in total. Since 1976, 6 Israeli leaders have address joint session of Congress ,a higher total than for any other country. US always supported Israel against the wars with Arabs. US provided Israel satellite imagery during 1973 war. Israel also wants US should give Israel a free hand in dealing with Palestinians and groups like Hezbollah.

Most of the US Presidents favored Israel. American President Woodrow Wilson supported Zionist objectives. Harry S. Trauman supported for a Jewish Homeland and he recognized the new nation on the day it was created In May 14,1948.John F. Kennedy sold weaponry to Israel in 1963. They sold craft missile to Israel . US provided Israel $3 billion to Israel for Lavi aircraft, Merkava tank and arrow missile .United States’ President Ronald Reagan maintained grant aid to Israel at $3 billion annually and implemented a free trade agreement in 1985. President Bush Sr. have gave loan of $9 billion to help Israel prepare for war with Iraq . President Bill Clinton provided $100 million for Israel anti terror activities and $200 million for arrow anti missile deployment. George W. Bush provided $210 million worth of jet fuel to Israel during Lebanon war in 2006. In 2017, then-US President Donald Trump announced the United States recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and ordered the planning of the relocation of the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. In 2019, President Trump signed the United States recognition of the Golan Heights as part of Israel. US supported Israel by all means and they are the reason of Israel’s well-lined purse .In a nut shell, I ll like to say that “If you are strong today, someone is backing you”
