Pakistan and democracy

(Nimra, Karachi)

In its is your journey after independence Pakistan have experienced every form of Government. Either by law or by enforcement are the time of independence, Quaid-e-Azam preferred Pakistan as a democratic state. But in less than 10 years after its existence in Pakistan’s base, Democracy vanished timely and afterwards Pakistan experienced the most irregular and unsatisfactory democracy till now. Basically in democracy , the government involves the selection of government officials by the people choice. According to Abraham Lincoln : “ Democracy is the government of people for the people and by the people .“

The unfortunate fate of democracy in Pakistan is somehow due to the lack in achievement of its basic principals such as equality, freedom, and social justice, which are the main empty blank in the process of its attainment. The roots of feudalism/ feudal system makes it difficult for the democracy to flourish.

Beside that the incapable political system, in visionary political leaders and their selfishness and absence lack of responsibility and ambiance of literate and countable leaders make it difficult to have a democratic system to run efficiently, keeping the country poor and backward the rise in terrorism, the growth of the provincialism and sectarianism, population explosion and bad economic policies have also damaged democracy . we need another Quaid-e-Azam to free us from the mental slavery and put the country back on the track of true democracy progress and prosperity.
