Mental Health:Correlation with religion:
The Amazed Research indicates that higher levels of religious beliefs and practice
(religiously) is associated with better mental health .
Famous Israeli sociologist Aaron Antonovsky argued that :”existential commitment
(including religiosity) can provide a sense of coherence ,”imparting deep meaning
and organising framework to individual life experience .
His research showed that he can even allow holocaust survivors to live a mentally
healthy risk.
Regarding with islam, muslims perform salah and fasts as an act of prayers
.Research demonstrated that action of salah dislikes decrease frontal lobe activity .
According to the hypothesis of Arne Dietrics in 2006 ,decreased frontal lobe activity
produces a therapeutic effect in certain mental issues such as depression ,anxiety,
obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) post traumatic stress disorder(PTSD) .
A cross cultural study involving 132 countries and close to 140,000 people found that
people in poor countries like Niger and Togo repeated some of the highest rates of
meaning of life but also lowest rates of happiness. This suggests that happiness
doesn't explain the disparity in su side rate .
Natural and physical health are common co.warbilities and where present ,have a
significant effect on health outcomes including mortality.
Service users ,families ,clinicians and policy makers all agree that a joined up
approach to physical and mental health is needed .Negative approaches to improve
the physical health and longevity of people with SMI in particular are urgently needed
across the board.
