AFTER GADDAFI, WHO IS NEXT?
(Hafiz Muhammad Noman, Karachi)
At last, Moammar Gaddafi’s
chapter was closed after a forty-two-year-long-era of his regime! The man, who
was supposed to be brave and bold due to his speeches and prestige, his last
words were “Don’t shoot me!” that shows the reality of a man’s internal, hidden
fear of death! Owing to the fiasco at fleeing from Libya, he found a hideout in
the pipeline but his rivals caught him and shot him dead! It can be said that
the sun of brutality and massacring the opposition by General Gaddafi has set
whereas people look forward to happiness and a change in their way of lives
soon!
As General Gaddafi treated harshly and killed his rivals in abundance for forty
two years caused to create anarchy in Libya and the opposition became united and
uprising in Libya prevailed slowly time by time. The main cause of concern for
the opposition was a forty-two-year-long regime that was no longer bearable for
them!
Considering the Arab Spring, we can see that those Arab countries in which a
dictator or a ruler is ruling for a long time, the rebellion is increasing there
to defeat the dictatorship! Also a factor to seriously consider is that America
and its allies along with European countries that seem to have their own
interests in the Arab countries are also involved in the proxy war! Hence, the
Arab countries in which USA and its allies find oil reserves, they either
support the cruel rulers to bag their interests in the countries or if the
rulers oppose US and its allies, they are put aside and uprising against the
rulers is increased by Proxy War! Its main example is available in Libya when US
struck 112 Tomahawks missiles at Libya that cost 7.28 billion US dollars
approximately. Apparently it feels that US was sympathetic to the Libyans but
actually striking the missiles were just an investment in Libya and perhaps, it
would receive its cost occupying the oil reserves of Libya that is its main
purpose!
However, the Muslim or Arab leaders never learned lessons from these sorts of
the incidents! Previously Saddam Hussein was hanged up and now Gaddafi was shot
dead! In Yemen, rebellion against Abdullah Salih is increasing whereas
Bashar-ul-Asad of Syria is busy in crushing his opposition! But the real issue
in Syria is based on religious sects! Bashar-ul-Asad being an Ehl-e-Tashi is
massacring the Sunnis! Amazingly, USA is trying to wash the label of terrorism
on his shirt threatening Syrian president Bashar-ul-Asad to avoid religious
extremism in the country! Anyhow, the Arab spring is spreading fast and now it
has started engulfing other countries as well including America and Britain! The
politics in the whole world is changing! People are raising their voices in
favour of their rights and the situation expresses the arrival of good days!
Let’s see who is next after Gaddafi?!!
