We Don’t Need Strikes!
(Hafiz Muhammad Noman, Karachi)
                At last, Bashir Khan Qureshi
died of heart attack. As he passed away, politics of allegations started and
leadership of JSQM started to declare Bashir’s death a conspiracy, saying that
Bashir Khan was given poison.
It is a great misfortune that whenever a political leader dies, his or her party
starts protest demos and calls for strike uselessly and such situation has
engulfed the whole country today. The root of this fool leadership has prevailed
time by time and now every citizen in Pakistan is facing plights because they
have to daily face a strike’s call by a political party.
It is better to quote a common man’s words here who was irritated on the recent
strike by JSQM in Sindh. He said if a person dies, people should pray for him
and for his better hereafter but the political parties are going totally wrong
in this regard. When their leader dies, they start calling for strikes due to
which common men suffer a lot and they curse and abuse those leaders who pass
away.
Why not they think that their call for strike deprive a lot of people from their
daily wages or earnings, patients are unable to go to hospitals and women are
unable to cook food due to unavailability of groceries etc.
It is said that people support the strikes or the strikes’ calls by various
political parties but in fact the reality is totally different. Just supporters
of those political parties support them whereas majority of the people want to
run their businesses freely and calmly and they need to continue their business
without any strikes. The law enforcement agencies must perform their duties
responsibly and take some serious steps in order to stem or cope with these
increasing strikes.
