For the first time after 9/11,
the US administration has started thinking rationally and pragmatically. Obama’s
statement of getting out of the quagmire of Afghanistan is indeed welcoming.
Honestly speaking we do not want America do be faced with the fate of USSR.
America is home to millions of human being who are easily getting their
livelihood there. The rich market of America is providing consumption
opportunity to almost all the economies of the globe.
Therefore, a sane and peace loving person can not even think of USA
disintegration. Rather we will pray for its prosperity. But that prosperity
should not be a liability for the world peace and nations’ stability and
security.
If the present US administration solves the conflicts of the world peacefully,
it should be appreciated. A peaceful solution is present for Afghanistan if
America is sincere in getting out of the region and bringing peace and stability
in that hilly country.
A lot has been written and said in this regard. Almost every one agreed upon the
suggestion that OIC should be given due role in the problem of Afghanistan.
Peace maintaining troops of the Muslims and non Muslims neutral countries should
be deployed there for at least five years. All the nations of the world and the
rich Muslim countries in special should help in developing democratic,
educational and political institutions in the country. And it can be easily done
in these five years without any foreign meddling.
The troops of those countries should be deployed here who are up till now
neutral in the case of Afghanistan. This is the most pragmatic and rational
solution of this problem. Otherwise it will be very difficult for America to
afford the war of Afghanistan which is already devouring billions of dollars
from the hard earned taxes of the Americans.
There is no need of sending extra troops to Afghanistan. Believe me the fears of
America about Taliban is baseless. As said earlier at least for the next half
century, no one would like American to be confronted with any internal economic
crisis. In the economic stability of America the stability of other economies
can be ensured.
Instead of turning towards military options, America can get access to the
energy resources of the region peacefully. Owing to globalization of the world
economy, no one will be so foolish to deny a more lucrative offer for its energy
resources. And all this is possible if America comes out of the nightmarish fear
of being the target of all the world and deprivation from the energy resources.
Therefore, instead of directly involving its combating troops in the region, it
will be better for the Obama’s administration to facilitate the presence of
neutral countries peace keeping forces in the region to bring peace and
stability in Afghanistan.
In five years time, a stable economy, educational and democratic institutions,
and aboriginal peace keeping forces can be given to Afghanistan.
First the American get out of the region, every option is open for bringing life
back to normal in Afghanistan. Because of US nose poking attitude in the affairs
of almost all the countries of the world, there is a sense of insecurity in the
societies of every country especially the societies of the third world.
It is a well come thing that Obama is bent upon changing the psyche of the world
community about America. Here in our country, a layman is not so much fearful of
India, which has been depicted by the state media as enemy number one, but much
more of America.
We are very much convinced by the notion that in pursuit of war on terror,
America has clandestine motives of destabilizing our dear mother land. Owing to
its unilateral attack on Iraq, huge military build up in neighboring
Afghanistan; sufficing grounds are present for nurturing this notion.
Therefore, the decision of getting US troops out from Afghanistan and giving way
to peace keeping forces of the neutral country can somewhat restore the image of
America in the eyes of world community and the Muslims world in special.
And this innovative stance can be expected from Barak Hussain Obama. The
initials thinking in the Obama’s administration is somewhat encouraging. After
all, the entire American has supported that person for some change. He will have
to break the status quo.
