An alarming situation for US military

The third world countries were once believed to be depressed nations. There was a highest rate of suicide committed by these nations. But now the scenario has been changing. The U.S military suicide has rose up to highest record level. In 2012, 349 troops have committed suicide. The government and the concerned authorities have tried their level best to stop or at least reduce this suicide rate but they failed to do it.

They even failed to find out the reason behind this increasing rate of committing suicide.

This number of suicide in US military is higher than the death toll in the war of Afghanistan in 2012.

David Rudd who is a military suicide researcher and the dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Utah believes that there are two main categories of US troops who are committing suicide that are Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans. He said that these were suffered from depression and stress. A decade of war has affected their mental health. They were facing troubles in their personal relationships; they faced money issues and other number of problems.

The Defense Secretary himself has called this situation as “Epidemic”. This shows that it is an alarming situation for the US Defense and Military to stop war. The so called democratic, anti terrorist and the most liberalize nation of the world has to think once again that their anti terrorism efforts are killing not only the innocents people in Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan and other nations but also their own soldiers.
