Countries are developed on
vision. A vision is established by considering realities and by fixing a
destination to achieve. Following are the existing realities of Pakistan.
1. Pakistan is an under-developed country with an 10% unemployed people.
2. Pakistan’s law and order are poor. The poor law and order are outcome of
ex-dictator Zia and his team decision to ally with USA in Afghanistan war
against USSR in the early 1980’s. The decision has changed the norms of
Pakistan’s society and lesson learned from this blunder is to stay away from the
other’s war.
3. Corruption is wide spread across country. To control the corruption, we have
to adopt procedures. For example, if one has to obtained a license for a car, an
export, an import, manufacture and so on, the procedure should complete in
limited time without any bribe.
4. Pakistan’s foreign policy should be based on trade and moral principles. No
question to have trade relation with Brazil, Turkey and so on. But India is a
different story. Pakistan has Kashmir dispute with India. Government of Pakistan
must not compromise the Kashmir dispute. Kashmir issue is our moral and ethical
responsibility.
5. We need to know how much money is needed for good education, health, and
infrastructure. Government may tax the masses but tax money must not be wasted
in the non-development. Before making the decisions, we have to define clearly
what are our needs.
• For example, how many schools are required to provide education to 4.25
million students(4.25 million is based on population increase rate of 2.5% per
year). Similarly how many hospitals would be sufficient to cater the needs for
175 million people of Pakistan.
• How much it will cost to supply clean water to people of Baluchistan, Sindh
and some parts of Punjab. I guess more than 33% population of Pakistan is living
without clean water.
6. How much time and cost are required to develop industrial state in various
parts of Pakistan.
7. How can Pakistan fight against any aggression. Pakistan cannot afford poor
performance of Pakistan army anymore. Since 1984, Pakistan army has failed to
free Siachen glacier from Indian forces. People of Pakistan like to know why?.
Why Pakistan army has surrender in front of Indian army despite having an
ammunition of 14 days? Why in 1971 instead of surrendering to Indian army
Pakistan army had not decided to fight a war against Indian army in Bangladesh?
Nation need a firm confirmation from Pakistan army that army will not surrender
under any circumstances. If such confirmation is not available from our army
then it is time for son of soil to form a strategy to defend the country. I
hoped we have many brave people who like to write a history not to surrender and
fight a war against any aggressor and InshahALLAH we will defeat any aggressor.
8. There is a need to develop one deep water sea port on the coast of
Baluchistan. An independent railway track is required to link various parts of
Pakistan to the deep water sea port. We need to know how much time and money are
required to accomplish the task.
9. Justice is a must for a society’s survival. Although we have a chief justice
of Pakistan and other judges in different courts of Pakistan, but the question
is “do we have a judicial system through which an ordinary citizen of Pakistan
obtains justice in 100 days”? Regrettably the answer to this is no. One more
flaw in the judicial system is that some people like former dictator Pervez
Musharraf and Altaf Hussain of MQM, are above the law. Regrettably, Iftikhar,
chief justice of Pakistan, is completing his tenure by taking so motto actions.
He and his team failed to announced decision on many cases. According to one
source, more than one hundred thousand cases are pending in Pakistan courts. My
questions to chief justice of Pakistan are ”Is there no corruption in Pakistan
courts?” Why Pakistan courts have not announced decisions on pending cases. Why
not one end that the efficiency of judicial system is poor. Why Ch. Iftikhar and
his team for last four years have failed to revamp judicial system so that
citizens of Pakistan get justice for their cases in 100 days. Why Ch.Iftakhar
and his team has taken no actions on current election rigging although rigging
evidence were shown in media. It would be good if Ch.Iftakhar and his judges
realize their short coming and avoid confrontation. To close this we have to
develop the procedure for fair justice to everyone in Pakistan in 100 days.
10. PML(N) has to stop using an excuse that Pakistan is without money. Well, if
one have billions then it is different story. The current task is to develop
from nothing. Pakistan is and was never full of money. It is our history, we
take loans to run the country. But now we have to cut our expenses and start to
live on an available money. Pakistan needs a government, which is capable to run
the country by without taking loans and at the same time pay back our country
loans within ten years.
In the end, it would be good to have all agreed vision for Pakistan. Without an
agreed vision means we have not started anything. Maybe we are wasting our time.
