Tikka Shawarma

Step # 1

Cut 500 gm chicken in finger slices.

Add ½ cup yogurt, 2 tbsp vinegar, 1 tbsp lemon juice, minced garlic and ginger of 1 clove, salt (½ tea spoon) and 2 tbsp tikka masala. Mix well and leave the marinated chicken in fridge for 5-7 minutes.

Step # 2

Pour 2 Tbsp of olive oil in a pan. Let the oil heat a little and pour marinated chicken and sauce into the pan. Immediately add 1 full cup of water in the pan. Stir and leave the chicken to cook in the flavorful water until the water dries off. Keep temperature medium.

When much water dries off and thick sauce remains, then remove the chicken with tikka sauce onto a bowl and keep it aside.

Step # 3


To prepare salad, slice thin layers of tomato, onion, olive and cucumber, collect them in a bowl. Add 2-3 tbsp olive oil, green chili jalapenos, and pinch of black pepper. Mix well and the salad is ready.

Step # 4

Now, grease a pan and toast pita breads.


Roll open the pita bread on a plate and spread a uncut salad leaf first, add chicken mixture, pour sauce, add olives and layer with little amount of chili ketchup and garlic mayonnaise.

Layer with Salad finally and then, carefully roll close the bread.


Tikka Shawarma is ready to serve.
