Shoaib Akhtar shares throwback picture from 23 years ago

Karachi: Pakistan’s former fast bowler, Shoiab Akhtar has shared a throwback picture from his first year in international cricket. Taking to twitter, sharing a picture from 1997 he wrote that ‘fashion was essential in every year’.

“Fashion toh phir har zamanay main zaroori tha. This is from my first year in international cricket 1997. Who all have been wearing baggy shirts & big buckled belts?” he shared.

Known as ‘Rawalpindi Express’, Akhtar is the first bowler to break the 100 mph barrier twice in his career.

He made history by throwing the ball at a speed of 161.3 kmph in one of the matches of 2003 World Cup against England. He took 178 wickets in 46 Test matches.

Shoaib Akhtar played his first Test in 1997 against the West Indies and his last in 2007 against India. The fast bowler has taken 247 wickets in 163 ODIs.
