The Benazir Nashonuma Program is an initiative launched under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP) to reduce the alarming rise in malnutrition among children under two years of age and Pregnant and Lactating women (PLW) in Pakistan, by offering cash and specialised nutritious food to the eligible candidates.

The program is aimed at preventing stunting in children, Improving weight gain of pregnant women, reducing anemia and micronutrient deficiencies, Preventing low birth weight, and Improving awareness of maternal and early child health and nutrition.

The Benazir Nashonuma program requires mothers to attend regular health checks and awareness sessions during pregnancy, consume specialized nutritious food (SNF), and take their children for immunization and regular health checks. Upon the verification of compliance, the beneficiaries will receive PKR 2,000 (to PLW and a male child), and PKR 2,500 (to a girl child).

Starting with a focus on 14 districts of the country, this program is now aiming to roll out throughout the country.

After updating your status you must visit the doctor to get the EPI card for vaccination proof, pregnancy test results/confirmation report and TT Vaccination in 2nd trimester (for pregnant women), and B-form of newborn/infant child (for lactating women) to submit to the nearby Nashonuma Facilitation Centre (FC) to complete your registration. In case of non-verification, these candidates will be referred to the registration counter for marking the status of non-eligibility for further action.
