Petrol prices in Pakistan crossed Rs. 450 per liter in April 2026. It made daily commuting a serious financial burden for millions of motorcycle riders. For that, the chief minister of Punjab launched the Punjab Bike Fuel Subsidy Scheme. It is a relief program for low and middle income motorcycle owners in Punjab.

The scheme was officially opened for applications on April 4, 2026. Instead of giving out cash, the government provides a digital fuel balance worth Rs. 2,000 every month. This is delivered as an Rs. 100 discount per liter on 20 liters of petrol. You can use it at any registered fuel station using a QR code or voucher on your mobile phone.

Who Is Eligible?

To qualify for the Punjab Bike Fuel Subsidy Scheme, all four conditions below must be met:

• You must be a resident of Punjab.
• You must have a valid CNIC.
• You must have only one bike registered in your name (EV bikes are not eligible).
• The bike must be 70cc (higher cc bikes are not currently eligible).
• You must not be the owner of any 4-wheel vehicle.

Note: The government has waived transfer fees, so you can update bike ownership for free right now through the relevant authority.

How to Use the Subsidy?

• Once your application is approved, you will receive a digital QR code or voucher on your mobile.
• Take this to any PSO or registered petrol pump.
• You will pay the discounted price. For example, if petrol costs Rs. 450 per liter, you pay only Rs. 350.

FAQs

What if my SIM card is not in my name?

In that case, your registration will possibly be rejected. The system checks your mobile number and CNIC match. If your SIM is registered in someone else’s name, please visit a mobile franchise to transfer it to your name before applying.

Can I get the subsidy for two motorcycles if I own both?

No. The government follows a "One-Bike Policy." Even if you have more than one 70cc bike, you can only register one for the fuel relief.

Do I have to pay any fee for registration or bike transfer?

Registration for this scheme is completely free. The Punjab government has currently waived all charges for motorcycle registration and ownership transfers.

What happens if I don't use all 20 liters this month?

The fuel quota works on a "use it or lose it" basis. If you don't use your 20-liter limit within the month, the remaining balance will not be added to the next month.

I own a small car and a bike. Am I eligible?

No. If you own any four-wheel vehicle (like a car), you are not eligible for this subsidy, even if you also own a 70cc bike.
