The Pakistan Senate Summer Internship Program 2025 launched under the leadership of Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani will commence on June 16. It is an initiative to enhance understanding and engage the youth of Pakistan in the legislative, democratic, and administrative functioning of the country’s Parliament. The Pakistan Senate Summer Internship Program 2025 is completely developed, owned, and managed by the Senate of Pakistan.

This program not only benefits the students but also provides the Senate with their talent, energy, and progressive ideas, especially during the ongoing budget session. Considering that, O and A level schools in Islamabad will also be included in the upcoming phases of this program.

Achievements of This Program

This year, 21 students from the top universities of Pakistan, including FAST, NUML, and NUST, are selected to participate in the first phase of this program. This initiative will increase their understanding of the social sciences, public policy, and technology departments.

Pakistan Senate Summer Internship Program Duration

Starting from 16 June, the Pakistan Senate Summer internship program duration is eight weeks. During this internship phase, interns will be given the opportunity to:

  • • Work at the Upper House of the Parliament (Senate)
  • • Practically experience how the laws are made and budgets are formed.
  • • Learn how Senate Committees work.
  • • Interact with senators and staff members.
  • • Participate in research and administrative tasks within the Senate Secretariat.
  • • Contribute in the Senate with fresh ideas and knowledge.

Before these interns start their duties, they will attend a two-day orientation at the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS). The session will cover topics like the Constitution of Pakistan, legislative procedures, and the roles of Senate committees and the Secretariat.

Pakistan Senate Summer Internship Program Eligibility

Once selected, each intern will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000. To ensure your eligibility, make sure to check the Pakistan Senate Summer Internship Program eligibility criteria. To participate in this program, one must fall into the following categories:

  • • Must be between 20 and 28 years of age.
  • • Currently enrolled in HEC-accredited universities/colleges
  • • Must be students of fields related to law, political science, public administration, etc.
  • • Must have a competitive academic performance
  • • Must have an interest in public service, governance, or legislative affairs
  • • Must be able to afford and arrange their own boarding and lodging.

This program will select individuals on a merit basis, so having a strong academic record, extraordinary skills, participation in relevant co-curricular activities, or other relevant certifications will increase your chances of selection.
