PM Svanidhi Yojana Loan Apply Online

The PM Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi or PM SVANidhi scheme was launched on 1 June 2020. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) introduced it under PM Narendra Modi government. It was specifically to help street vendors recover from the economic disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns.

The scheme's goal was to

  • Bring street vendors into the formal financial system.
  • Offer them easy and collateral free working capital credit.
  • Reward timely repayment with access to larger loans.

In August 2025, the Union Cabinet approved an extended version of the scheme. It extended the lending period to 31 March 2030 with a total outlay of ₹7,332 crore. The restructured scheme aims to benefit 1.15 crore street vendors, including 50 lakh new beneficiaries.

How to Do PM SVANidhi Yojana Loan Apply Online

The PM SVANidhi portal (pmsvanidhi.mohua.gov.in) has been accepting online loan applications since 8 September 2025. To do the PM SVANidhi yojana loan apply online

  • Click "Apply for Loan" on the homepage
  • Select "Vendor Loan"
  • Enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and complete OTP verification
  • Check your survey status by entering details
  • Note your Survey Reference Number (SRN)
  • Fill in the form
  • Upload required documents
  • Submit the application
  • You will receive an application number on your registered mobile
  • The application is forwarded to the nearest lending institution for processing

PM SVANidhi Yojana Loan Interest Rate

The PM SVANidhi yojana loan interest rate is determined by the individual lending institution (scheduled commercial banks, microfinance institutions, cooperative banks, etc.) in line with RBI guidelines. The interest rate depends on the lender and borrower profile. It usually ranges between 8% and 24% per year.

The government also provides an annual interest subsidy at 7%. It is sent directly to the bank account of the borrower on a quarterly basis. For this, the loan must be repaid on time or early. This subsidy is available on all three loan cycles.

PM SVANidhi Yojana Loan Amount and Loan Limit

The PM SVANidhi yojana loan is structured in three cycles. The PM SVANidhi yojana loan amount increases with each cycle based on the record of the previous loan is repaid on time. The PM SVANidhi yojana loan limit for each cycle is as follows (as per the August 2025 Cabinet revision):

  • First Loan: Borrowers first time is eligible to get a loan of up to ₹15,000. This loan is repayable in monthly instalments over a time of 12 months.
  • Second Loan: Beneficiaries who repay first loan on time become eligible for a second loan that is up to ₹25,000. Is is also repayable in monthly instalments within 12 months.
  • Third Loan: Once timely repayment of the second loan, borrowers can apply for a third loan with the amount of up to ₹50,000. Similar to the previous cycles, the repayment time is 12 months, that too with monthly instalments.

UPI linked RuPay Credit Card

Vendors who repay the second loan can receive a UPI-linked RuPay Credit Card with a ₹30,000 limit (introduced in Budget 2025).

Note: All loans are collateral-free. No asset needs to be pledged.

Digital Cashback Incentive

The PM SVANidhi scheme also rewards vendors who adopt digital payments. Vendors who use UPI or any other digital transaction methods can earn,

  • Up to ₹100 cashback per month. It is for regular retail digital transactions.
  • Up to ₹1,600 cashback. It is for retail and wholesale digital transactions.

Who Is Eligible?

The PM SVANidhi yojana loan is available to urban and semi-urban street vendors who were vending on or before 24 March 2020. The following categories qualify:

  • Vendors with a valid Certificate of Vending (CoV) or Identity Card issued by Urban Local Bodies (ULBs)
  • Vendors identified in the ULB survey but not yet issued a Certificate of Vending. They can receive a Provisional Certificate of Vending or a Letter of Recommendation (LoR)
  • Vendors from surrounding peri-urban or rural areas who vend within ULB limits and have an LoR from a ULB or Town Vending Committee (TVC)

The scheme covers all types of street vendors, including:

  • Vegetable, fruit, tea, snack, bread, and egg sellers
  • Textile, footwear, book, and stationery vendors
  • Artisan product sellers
  • Service providers like barbers, cobblers, pan shop owners, and laundry or repair providers
