Ingredients
  1. 10 cups water; salt to taste
  2. ½ tsp turmeric
  3. ¼ tsp red chilli powder
  4. 4 tblsps jageery
  5. a lemon-si:ed ball of tamarind (soaked in water for 40 minutes)
  6. 1 tblsp oil
  7. ¼ tsp mustard seeds
  8. ¼ tsp asafoetida
  9. one stem curry leaves
Method
  • Boil the water, and to it add turmeric, red chillies, jaggery and tamarind juice. Allow to boil for 30 minutes. Heat oil, and throw in the mustard seeds. When they begin to crackle, add asafoetida and curry leaves. Pour into the soup, remove from fire, and serve hot.
