Table cheese

Table cheese refers to any cheese that can be served as an accompaniment all by itself and also be a part of salads, appetizers etc on the table. It can be part of the main course also. Table cheeses go very well with wines, matched according to the flavour of each. They may be soft cheeses like Feta, fontina etc or semi soft to hard cheese like Gouda, pecorino etc. Whatever is on your table as an appetizer or main meal, add a slice of table cheese. Feta is one of the ultimate "table cheese," meaning it can go on the table before you even start thinking about a meal, and stay there to accompany each course, even dessert fruits.
