Pakistan-China friendship is
higher thanHimalayas, deeper than the soul of mystic and stronger than the sword
of warrior so is the China-Pakistan economic corridor has significant importance
to prove its friendship and loyalty for both of the countries because it is a
bilateral project. China is investing $62 billion in this project.
Currently the GDP of Pakistan is 5.79 per capita and by 2025 this $62 billion
which is 20% of current GDP of Pakistan will be added to the economy of the
Pakistan so this would be a door way to better economy of Pakistan. The total
number of 21 projects are going on in which China is investing which will
produce 131810MW costing $26,370 million and will create 71999 job opportunities
for skilled labor, this will end Pakistan energy crisis once and for all. China
is investing $13622 million in infrastructure like road and railwayswhich will
create 47123 job opportunitiesfor skilled labor. Most importantly on the Gwadar
route investment $10,000-$14,000 million in 12 different projects which will
create 77,700 job opportunities of skilled labor in Pakistan. This total
investment and job opportunities will flourish the economy of Pakistan by 2025.
Similarly for CPEC is as important as it is to Pakistan. The actual sea routes
from Persian Gulf to Beijing covers the distance of 12,900 km which takes 3
months but the proposed CPEC from Gwadar to Kashgar will only cover 2000 km’s in
20 to 22 hours only which will improve the trade, economic connectivity between
Asia, the middle east and Europe. Gwadar to Kashgar route will not only decrease
the distance between china and Middle East but will also provide safe and secure
way of oil to china. As Gwadar is locating at the fore front of Strait of Hormuz
which is the passage way of $40 trillion trade in a year, moreover it will
decrease the shipping cost of china to Middle East and African countries to
great extent. Basically CPEC is the name of multiple roads of one corridor: in
Pakistan there are three major alignments having multiple roads are the part of
this project, western alignment, eastern and central alignment all of these
three alignments will be connected through highways and motor ways. However,
western alignment is more important rather than others because it will open the
door of prosperity and development in Baluchistan and KPK, because Chinese
investors will establish their manufacturing units on this route, which will
increase the opportunity of employment in these remote areas.
The China-Pakistan economic mega project seen as a vital bridge in the
“all-weather” China-Pakistan relationship as it is opening up many economic
opportunities in the region. This corridor can alter the dynamics of global
politics. The China-Pakistan economic corridor will help to strengthen the
Pakistan’s economy and enhance its position on the region for China, CPEC will
open new routes to the oil-rich Middle East through Arabian Sea via Gwadar warm
water sea port which will operate through-out the year. It will support regional
ties and enable the region to stand on its own with minimal reliance on the
Western world.
