Pakistan is a rich country in terms of natural and human resources. Besides men, Pakistan women, despite limited opportunities and some cultural restrictions had done wonderful job for the development, progress and defence of Pakistan. In past, we had women like Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Bi Amman (mother of Maulana Muhammad Ali Johar), Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan, and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto who rendered valuable services for our motherland. We have a very capable, talented, dedicated and committed woman, Mohtarma Zubaida Jalal Sahiba, who is not only for Baluchistan but also for whole Pakistan and Pakistani nation is a pride and symbol of struggle. The services she had rendered for Pakistan and people of Baluchistan are unforgettable. Her tireless efforts and continuous struggle to educate the girls of remotest areas of Baluchistan are now part of our history and will be written in golden letters. She brought positive and constructive changes in the lives of people of her constituency. She is the first Baluch woman, who made history by winning the election on national assembly seat which shows the enormous confidence of her people on her. She is the bright, aluminous and pride face of Pakistan who we can present before the world as symbol of women’s dignity and pride.
Zubaida Jalal started her career as a social activist in 1982 when her father, Haji Jalal Khan, started the first ever girls’ school in the remotest part of Baluchistan in Mand. She also rendered unforgettable services as Federal Minister for Education. She is staunch and impeccable supporter of girls’ education. From 1999 to December 2000, she also served as the Federal Minister for Women development; during this period she had a credit to declare honour killing as murder. She contested the general election and became the only woman to win the election on general seat. She is serving now as Federal Minister for Defence Production and paying her role to strengthen Pakistan’s defence capability.
Zubaida Jalal is well educated, illuminated, moderate woman with firm belief in Baluch and Pakistani values. She wears Baluchi dress which reflects her deep roots in Pakistani culture. She is very simple woman and loves her people. Everyone, including men and women can approach her; she listens them and goes extra miles to resolve their problems. She is down to earth and from all sorts of bigotry, bias and arrogance and enjoys the confidence of her people.
On 10th February,2019 she gave her grace presence at “ Diplomat of the Year Award 2019” held at local hotel. On the occasion I paid her rich tribute and acclaimed her valuable services. The ceremony was largely attended by diplomats of various countries including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Philippines, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Lebanon and large number of media persons and representatives from business community.
