JUI-F's Commercializing Of Religion

(Inshal Rao, )

it is a bitter truth, in Pakistan religion being commercialized for the vital interest and shield of the few people, Pakistan is the multiethnic & multi-religious country where people have utmost freedom of religion. There are two types of religious organizations in Pakistan the one who operate & limited upto religious activities only while the second involved in politics like Jui-F, JI etc. In past religious organizations party, religion to topple government, in this account first of all Gen Ayoub's regime was challenged on roads by few (ulemas) then movement was launched against ZA bhutto resulting Gen Zia took advantage and imposed Martial law, even against Gen mussharaf 's rule the Lal Masjid card widespread used by opponents including so called Ulemas & shrewd political demagogue who use religion for their own interests, in 1993 gen elections Maulana Fazlur Rehman considered women rule of the country as un-islamic but when he was benefited with chairmanship of one of the assembly's committee and a huge quota of diesel fuel, after attaining these diesel permits he was named as "Maulana Diesel" on the commercial activities in the name of religion. The History of Pakistan full of religious commercialization, The Pakistan National Alliance (PNA), which in 1977 successfully campaigned against Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, was not a purely religious

alliance though it used the slogan of Islam. The same was true of the Islami Jamhoori Ittehad (IJI), the Islamic Jamhoori Mahaz (IJM) and Pakistan Islamic Front (PIF) in the 1988, 1990 and 1993 elections, What was common to all as well as to the MMA was commercial interests. JUI_F has no democratic norms and culture, JUI was formed by Maulana Shabbir husain Usmani & in 1962 Mufti Mehmood elected president of party and remain till his demise after him Maulana Fazlur Rehman appointed as party head because he was son of Mufti Mahmood, there is a sense of opposition prevailing against dynastic leadership and dictatorial behave of Fazlur rehman in the party Maulana Sami ul Haq distant from him due to his dictatorial heading, later he faced another divide in 2008 when his close aide Maulana Asmat ullah parted away and founded another party JUI-Nazryati, according to constitution of pakistan intra party election must be conducted after every three years we conduction .election commission issued noticed to all parties so JUI_F conducted intra party election in april 2014 but Maulana Muhammad Khan sherani was forced to withdraw his nomination as he was contesting for chairmanship of party against Maulana Fazlur rehman which is clear sign of dictatorship and dynastic heading of Maulana Fazlur rehman in the Rehman The life of Maulana filled with contradiction as once He was opponent to women rule but after attaining positions & financial benefits He declared it Halal, even in Mosharraf regime his own family women elected on reserved seats, once he was totally against the military rule but he enjoyed two of four Provinces Government under military rule & leader of opposition as well, not only this Maulana got several hundreds canal of civil land at rate of only 200 rupees per canal. His rhetoric statements cum narrative against US always issued but Mr Jacob Happymon writes that "Maulana Fazlur Rehman provided support & assistance at multiple levels diplomatic, financial, strategic & operational. He visited the USA, Saudi Arabia & other Gulf States from where he bagged handsome financial assistance". Nowadays Maulana's sit in Azadi March has been staged against PTI Gov't & demanding resignation of PM & re-election, levelling charges of rigging & military involvement, interestingly it is first time that Maulana is out Gov't but same as usual he is the part of alliance of opposition, Maulana's all brothers previously enjoyed high positions of Gov't even his family women continuing as assembly members but this time he faced deficit so from another way he started his commercial activities, probably in future it result worst for religious parties as in 2002 MMA got 63 seats & 3.3 million votes but due to their commercialization they lost the trust of people so they are being reduced to minimize in size & voters trust.
