Three Good Acts that Lead to Great Reward

(Muhammad Rafique Etesame, Ahmedpureast)

Abu Hurairah narrated that :
Allah's Messenger said: "Shall I tell you that for which Allah will wipe out your sins, and raise your ranks?" They said, "Of course Allah's Messenger!" He said: "Performing Wudu well in difficulty, and taking many steps to the Masajid, and waiting for Salat after Salat, That is the Ribat.

This hadith reveals the great reward for performing ablution well in the difficulty i.e. in winter season or in other difficult state of affairs. Similarly, after performing wudu when going to mosque, the believer should walk slowly so that many steps should be taken; and after offering one salah, the believer should wait another salah. This doesn’t mean that the believer should offer salahs only and not to do any business etc. But it means that besides busy in his routine work, he should remain alert for offering salah.

And whoever does these three acts then it is ‘Ribat.’ Ribat is used in different meanings but here it is used as “The word ribat in its abstract refers to voluntary defense of Islam, which is why ribats were originally used to house those who fought to defend Islam in Jihad” (Wikipedia).

Simply, it means a faithful believer who does ‘jihad’ to defend his country or to defend himself ageist the Devil or inordinate soul. May Allah Almighty give us power to act upon this hadith, Ameen.
