War on terror has inflicted havoc in pakistan, unlike any other country around the world. It caused Pakistan a very severe human dearth, that is, about 60000 people lost their lives in war on terror. Moreover, terrorism unleashed against Pakistan by different terror outfits has inflicted Pakistan about $80 billion economic loss through the destruction of infrastructure and slowing down economic machinery owing to war on terror strategy.
It is undeniable, that many gains have been made yet a lot needs to be done. Pakistan now a days has been closely pursuing the policy of reconciliation rather than offensive policy that has been followed in the past.
Government of pakistan has reached out to different factions of non state actors, especially tehreek e taliban pakistan(TTP), in order to achieve one of the object of national action plan. Tehreek e taliban pakistan, which is a prominent proscribed group of non state actors, involved in different attacks on law enforcement agencies as well as involved in brutal attack on Army public school peshawar, in which more than 150 people were killed mostly children. Subsequently, envisaged by national action plan made by consensus of all provincial stakeholders in order to preclude such a brutal attacks in the future.
The new set up of govt established in Afghanistan are facilitating the reconciliation process between TTP and Pakistani govt, that can be a way forward to figure out solution for the ongoing immortal feud among Pakistani security institutions and non state actors. Subsequently, they signed an agreement of ceasefire, that can be further extended, untill fully reintegrate TTP elements into the mainstream nation. Similarly, govt of Pakistan is also trying to find a way forward and reconcile with baluch estranged groups in order to reinvigorate environment of peace in Balochistan, which is a future financial hub for Pakistan, and stability of law and order situation there, holds paramount importance.
Nevertheless, for development a stable law and order situation is necessary. More entreprenours and foreign direct investments will come if, law and order situation is stable in the country. In thus regard, clerics and religious scholars of the society can help the govt by educating people, which are in odd with security institutions owing to war on terror. Moreover, strict implementation of laws against hate speeches, dissemination of fake news and other hybrid warfares, are necessary, in order to shape a healthy and stable environment for smooth economic growth and development.
