Is it difficult or easy to tour on a motorcycle?

(M Qasim Waqar Sialvi, Faisalabad)

Complete preparation is the guarantee of a great trip.

A motorcycle is called a cheap ride and some elders also call it the devil's paradise. In fact, there is nothing wrong with its use that makes it useful or useless. Of course, a motorcycle trip is calm, full of adventure and fast, but it is not free from fatigue, mental stress and dangers. Below are some things that I have learned during my travels in the past few years. I leave it to the comments of you friends.

Who can tour on a motorcycle?
Anyone can do it who is used to traveling at least one hundred kilometers in a single ride. If you ride intermittently, like within the city, with breaks and chats after every two or three kilometers, it will be difficult for you to travel long distances. A physically fit person is more suitable for this trip. So first take care of your health and then consider a motorcycle tour.

Which motorcycle is best for a tour?
My answer to this question is that the one you know how to ride is the best. People travel to mountains and deserts on bicycles. So always keep in mind that on a tour, you take the spirit, not the motorcycle. Any bike of seventy cc, one hundred, one hundred twenty-five, one hundred fifty or above power is useful for a tour, provided that it is well maintained, the engine, clutch plate, chain, brake lever, lights, clutch and brake cables and above all the tires and tubes are in good condition.

How to plan a motorcycle tour?
First of all, increase your riding capacity, a helmet is as important as clothes for the body, so wear a helmet and make it a habit to ride one hundred and fifty kilometers a week without stopping, if not daily.

Safety first
Check by wearing safety gloves, shoes, or a safety suit, travel a little to see how comfortable you feel during the trip. If a motorcycle tank bag is available in the general market, it is a must, if you install a side box, it is a must. Otherwise, a bag made of a common parachute can be tied to the back with a strong rope.

Choosing a destination
Initially determine a nearby destination for the trip that is within a range of one hundred or one hundred and fifty kilometers. Do not plan a long trip at the very beginning, you may be tempted. Bring necessary clothes according to the weather, avoid wrapping mufflers, shawls, etc. around your neck, if it is more necessary, tie it so that it does not open automatically.

Essential precautions
Choose a good quality helmet because it is your responsibility to keep your head safe. Always fasten the helmet buckle. Never use a loose (open) helmet. Its glass should be clean. Put your mobile on hands-free or connect it to a Bluetooth or helmet intercom device. Wear closed shoes in hot or cold weather. Industrial safety shoes are best, but first wear them at home and walk around to get your feet used to them. Never carry unnecessary items with you. Don't forget to carry a plastic sheet, a large plastic bag (shopper), a strong flexible rope, an extra key for the motorcycle, and a wire lock. If you are carrying puncture equipment, practice opening a tire at home or spend some time with a puncture repairman to gain experience.

In conclusion, avoiding the length of the article, I will say that life is very precious, avoid racing without reason, bikers are patient, tolerant, well-mannered and have high courage. Do not disturb the person in front by installing unnecessary lights, avoid too loud horns, greet other bikers, friends, passengers and passersby you meet on the way and earn good deeds, if you are ever in trouble, your motorcycle is broken or you need any help, then take off your helmet and put it on the side of the road and stand by yourself. Any biker who passes by will definitely help you because this is a sign that you are in some trouble. May Allah Almighty grant ease to everyone and grant you the honor of distributing ease. Amen
