Alaska Summit: Putin emerged as the winner

Western powers try their best to foil all the attempts to convert the global scenario into a multi-polar. On the one hand, they tried to stop China from economic advancement, and on the other hand, they tried to stop Russia from playing its effective role in global politics. What happened in Gaza is eye-opening, where more than 50,000 children have been killed average of 80 children per day. The atrocities in Gaza are at such a high degree that even Israeli soldiers are committing suicide, and just in one year, 18 Israeli soldiers committed suicide as they were unable to bear the cruelty and inhumane treatment by Israeli forces, which is the worst kind of genocide in modern history. The world desperately needs a multipolar setup where no one power has such a monopoly to allow anyone to commit such heinous crimes against humanity, which Israel has done, and unfortunately, Western countries and America fully backed, sponsored, and financed the genocide of Palestinians. Western powers pushed Zelensky into a fruitless war against Russia for their own benefit and to isolate Russia. All their efforts failed, and under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Vladimir Putin, it emerged as a global power and an important player in the global power game. 15 August 2025 was a historical date when President Trump and President Vladimir Putin met at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. The meeting between the US and Russian presidents was billed as a vital step towards peace in Ukraine.
Trump waited for Putin on a red carpet spread across the runway of the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. As Putin approached, Trump clapped. The two leaders warmly shook hands and smiled. It was a remarkable moment for Putin. The Alaska summit happened at was a victory for Putin. In an apparently unscripted moment, Putin accepted a lift to the airbase in Trump's armoured limousine instead of driving in his own Moscow-plated presidential car. As the vehicle pulled away, the cameras zoomed in on Putin sitting in the backseat and laughing. As Putin spoke, Trump stood in silence. It was several minutes before the Russian president mentioned what he called the "situation in Ukraine" - ostensibly the catalyst for the summit. When he did, it was to state that although an unspecified "agreement" had been reached, the "root causes" of the conflict had to be eliminated before peace could be achieved. The phrase will have set off alarm bells in Kyiv and beyond. The apparent demands from Putin include recognition of Russian sovereignty over regions of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson, as well as Ukraine agreeing to demilitarization, neutrality, no foreign military involvement, and new elections.
The Russian President has great skills of negotiation. He plays his cards intelligently. He is a highly experienced person. He served as a KGB officer for sixteen years and led Russia, the largest country in the world in terms of area, for fifteen years. As compared to Zelensky, who was a comedian, President Putin is more confident and has political acumen. Media persons observed that Putin has a desire to end the war, provided Russia must be given an honorable place in the global power game. Before wrapping up his statement, Putin referenced one of the US president's frequent talking points – that the conflict in Ukraine would have never started had Trump been in power. Putin also warned Ukraine and the European Union against throwing a “wrench in the works” and cautioned against attempts to use “backroom dealings to conduct provocations to torpedo the nascent progress”.
The meeting lasted about three hours, including a one-on-one in the US leader’s limo on the way to the summit’s venue and a closed-door event that also involved two delegation members on each side: Kremlin Aide Yury Ushakov and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov represented Russia, while Secretary of State and Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff represented the US. Putin told the media after the talks that the parties had focused on resolving the Ukraine conflict. The Russian leader also called for turning the page in bilateral relations and going back to cooperation. Putin invited Trump to visit Moscow. The US leader, in turn, pointed to progress in the negotiation process but noted that the parties had not been able to agree on all issues.
It is clear that Ukraine cannot win the war, and Zelensky is at the mercy of Western powers. The world needs peace and stability, and let Russia play its role for the stability, peace, and development of the world and to end the war in Ukraine, and to stop genocide in Gaza, and let the Palestinians live in their free land.
