Malala Yousufzai is an icon of
courage and hope. She is an accomplished and brave 14-year old activist for
education freedom in Pakistan ...she was awarded the National Peace Award in
Pakistan last year. "My life is like a movie, full of dreams. I used to dream of
becoming famous, to see my valley freed from the clutches of Taliban, to see
girls flying like butterflies, free from any restrictions. It is becoming as a
reality so I am happy, happy, and very happy, want to change the political
system so there is social justice and equality and change in the status of girls
and women. I plan to set up my own academy for girls,” these are the words
spoken by malala at time she won the award. There are many questions why she has
shot? Why Taliban’s thinks she is against Islam? Why Taliban are against women
education? Lets start from Taliban who are they? The Taliban is a loosely-linked
network of local Islamist fighters based in Afghanistan, although there is some
spill-over into the tribal areas of Pakistan as well. . They came to power
during Afghanistan's long civil war. They disintegrated after 1996. These
extremist have most shocking attitude with women. Forbids girls to go schools.
They think women are bare from working outside the home, precipitating a crisis
in healthcare and education. Women are also prohibiting from leaving their home
without a male relative. According to the Taliban, they do so was to safeguard
women and their honor. Women are not allowed to work or even go out in public
without male relative, professional women such as professors, translators,
doctors, lawyers, artists and writers have been forced from their jobs and
stuffed into their homes. Why treated women so ruthlessly. Islam has not taught
us to do so with women Islam is a religion of peace. Islam considers a woman to
be equal to a man as a human being and as his partner in this life. Women have
been created with a soul of the same nature as man. A woman in Islam has the
right to knowledge and education. Islam encourages women to read and keep up the
learning process. The attack on Malala was different. This time around the civil
society, media, civilian government, the army, etc appeared very well organized
against the cowardly attack on Malala in a matter of just 24 hours. Government
should urge to take every possible step to save the life of young Malala
Yousafzai and should take meaningful measures to promote the true teachings of
Islam.
