In the last decade Pakistan has been facing the escalation of instability,
insecurity and political voilence in the country as it plays it role as a
"frontline state" in the Globar war on Terrorism. Pakistan is paying a huge
price for this but however no rectifying steps has yet been taken.
Social impact of this war is horrendous. In order to sustain peace and situation
the military organizations have made close nexus which has been a vivid factor
in the increase of criminal activities.
As a matter of fact, it would not be wrong to say that Pakistan is paying high
price for this war on the cost of its sovereignty and survival due to which
Globe has started to looked down upon as a country not doing good in sustaining
its existence.
Human life cost is one of the most obvious impact and Pakistan is no exception
to it. Life in Pakistan is always at a stake and the war on terrorism has
exacted a very high human cost for the last 12 years and still counting. Along
with this, economy of Pakistan has also seen a severe set back as a consequence
of Terrorism. Though this cannot be the sole reason of the destruction but also
other factors playing their vivid role such as International financial crisis of
2009, undemocratic government, massive disruption of energy supply to the
industrial sector as well as severe floods almost every year. Education for
rural and vulnerable sectors have also been adversely effected, throwing the
education system of the country to the dead end. All this has made the national
image of the country hard to comprehend and torn between a frontline state in
the international war against terrorism and of a safe haven for breeding and
shielding a new generations of militants.
The sooner the realize the intensity of this problem and develop a national and
public consensus on defeating terrorism, the better. Otherwise this increasingly
gaining strength of terrorism snowball would completely destroy us.
