Naltar Valley

The word tourism is derived from a word “Tour” which is derived from an old English turian. The concept of word tourism is derived from Latin word.

Though tourism is an activity of traveling towards a peaceful, dynamic adventures, attractive places, making memories and much more. Tourism can be domestic or International, while mostly those who are the part of tourism are couple of pairs, business meetings and group of young energetic youth. They can be from both the sides domestic or international.

Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) is the tourism body of ministry of tourism government of Pakistan. Pakistan provides a variety of locations for the tourists to visit and explore. Luckily Pakistan is among those countries which are blessed with bare expanses of desserts, snow capped mountains, and beauty of luscious green valleys and bare Rocky Mountains with vast areas of barren land, sunny beaches and mysterious caverns.

Pakistan has been graced by Almighty ALLAH with amazing and wonderful beauties of nature. But the most beautiful place in my eyes is Naltar valley which is situated in Gilgit Baltistan. It’s a dense pine forest valley with magnificent landscapes and wildlife. Naltar is 40 km from Gilgit and can be reached by jeeps. Nowadays, there is a base camp of Pakistan Air Force at Naltar and it is also famous for its Ski resort and the Ski contests which are conducted by Ski Federation of Pakistan with the cooperation of Pakistan Air Force.

Naltar is filled with lush green meadows, Rocky Mountains, beautiful lakes and unique views. This valley is the home of excellent alpine beauty. This Lake is also known as ‘Bashkiri Lake’ and situated at a distance of 32 kilometers from Naltar Bala. The visit of Naltar valley is incomplete without seeing the blue and crystal waters of Naltar Lake. All the way which leads towards the lake is nonmetallic and narrow alongside a stream which is flowing from the mountains.

The Naltar valley contains exceptional wild life. The most famous is the Himalayan Yak and the amazing Golden Sparrow. This valley observes the average Rainfall of 410 millimeters per year that is why it is covered with thick woods of pine, spruces, rowan and juniper.

Education rate in this valley is very poor. A government high school and a NLI public school is there at Naltar Bala and a middle school for girls is under construction. The Naltar Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area in the valley that was established on 22 November 1975.

This Valley is famous for its colorful lakes. I have never seen something more beautiful than this Valley. It doesn’t seem to be a part of this world. World’s tastiest potatoes are cultivated here. If you really want to see a heaven in this world, you should visit Naltar Valley. This place will make you fall in love several times as well as the beauty of this place can’t be express or written in words.
