Carrot Halwa Recipe

Carrot Halwa recipe commonly known as Gajar ka Halwa is a Mughlai Dish. It was introduced by the Mughals. Gajar, as you all may know means Carrot and Halwa is an Arabian word which means “Sweet”. Carrot Halwa recipe is a common dish in Pakistan. It is made by the combination of Carrots, water, milk, sugar and then cooking all of them together. With the garnishing of Almonds and pistachios, the dish becomes even more desirable for sweet lovers. Carrot Halwa recipe is a delight, and because it is made up of fruit, it has many benefits.

Carrot Halwa recipe has high percentages of Vitamin A, C, K, and fiber, with the addition of milk, calcium, and protein also become a part of it, so you might want to finish that Halwa in your bowl. This is a traditional dish in Pakistan and it is eaten during festivals like Eid, Ramadan (during iftar), it is mandatory in a Dawat and it is served hot in winters.

Ingredients
  1. carrot 1 kg
  2. sugar to taste
  3. milk 1 litre
  4. ghee 1/2 cup
  5. cardamon powder 1/2 tsp
  6. almond 10
  7. pistachios 10
  8. walnuts 5 to 8
  9. khouya 1/2 cup
Method
  • Step 1 - Wash, peel and grated the carrot.put the carrot in a pan with

  • milk cook low flame till milk disappear.
  • Step 2 - Take another pan heat the pan with ghee and put carrot mixture
  • and sugar stir it till sugar disappear.
  • Step 3 - Add cardamon powder and nuts stir continuously till the ghee
  • separate from the mixture.

  • Finally garnish with nuts and khouya
  • Halwa is ready
  • serve hot

I just asking that can i chop carrot with the help of chopper? Is it necessary to use qaddu kash for making halwa of carrot? It is a very difficult.

I dont like the taste of khouya in carrot halwa because when i eat it i feel vomiting that is why any one tell me how can i use instead of it? Some times i use paira methai in it.
