Ingredients
  1. chicken 2 lbs
  2. gram flour 3 tbsp
  3. yogurt 4 -5 tbsp
  4. salt 1 tsp (to taste)
  5. papaya paste 1 tsp
  6. garlic paste 1 tsp
  7. ginger paste 1 tsp
  8. red chili powder 1 - 2 tsp
  9. coriander powder 2 tsp
  10. cumin powder 1 tsp
  11. lemon juice 1/4 cup
  12. red food color a pinch
  13. oil 4-5 tbsp
  14. shashlik sticks
  15. charcoal piece for BBQ flavor
Method
  • In a mixing bowl.... add gram flour, yogurt, salt, ginger and garlic paste, papaya paste, coriander powder, cumin powder... and make a thick paste with lemon juice and oil.
  • Add the chicken pieces and mix well.... and marinate it for at least 1 hour
  • Heat charcoal piece.... put it on small piece of foil and put it on marinated chicken.... drizzle some oil over heated piece of charcoal... and cover immediately...
  • Thread chicken pieces in skewers.... (soak skewers in water for 15 - 20 minutes before using, it will keep skewers moisten and they will not burn while cooking)
  • Heat grill pan, spray oil.... and grill skewers ... turn sides and till chicken cooked through (you can do it on frying pan with 1 tsp of oil.... or cook in normal pot on high flame till done)
  • Cook all skewers
  • Served it with paratha and chutney raita... and enjoy.
