Parenthood itself a great experience comes with a responsibility of a complete child development and growth according to their cultures and religious norms. When a baby boy is born in Hindu religion the parents starts the celebration by set up a naming ceremony to choose a Popular Hindu Boy names for their baby. This ceremony is called “Naamkaran” in Hindu culture.

In today’s modern world some parents wants to give some traditional names to their babies but still Hindu parents would choose traditional baby names. Hindu baby names are often inspired by their festivals. As they want to maintain their respect to their religion and culture.

‘NaamKaran’ of a Hindu baby boy name is considered a very pleased ritual. Whole family gathers to celebrate the birth of baby. Family members will recommend baby names with the initials given by the priest. ‘NamKaran’ is also known as ‘Palanarohan’. It refers to put a baby in a cradle. Palana means cradle and Arohan means onboard in Sanskrit language. They celebrate this to congratulate the mother that she surpassed from stress of a baby birth.

The rituals start with Pranyam(prayers) and Mantra(chanting). If the father of baby is not present in the ceremony than the uncle or grandfather is allowed to perform this ritual in the presence of pundit (priest). The pundit will proceed the ritual with prayers to God and all the family members are allowed to suggest a baby name to the priest. If the suggested name gains the likeability and approval of priest and the baby parents, that name will considered as the final name for baby.
