اب تمہارے شہر میں ویرانیاں بہت
دیکھوں میں جس طرف بھی حیرانیاں بہت
وہ بھی کیا وقت تھا ہر سو تھی آسودگی
لیکن آج تیرے شہر میں پریشانیاں بہت
ہم بھول بھی جائیں ہر ستم پھر بھی
چھپی ہیں جواس میں کہانیاں بہت
جس طرف دیکھتا ہوں اک نئی چیز ہے
ایسی بھی ہیں یادیں جو پرانیاں بہت
وقت گزرتا رہا اور گزر جاتا ہے
یادوں میں کسی کے مگر جوانیاں بہت
یہ تو کوئی بات نہ تھی روٹھنے کی مگر
قصوں میں کہیں اس کے روانیاں بہت
