Hazrat Aisha (May Allah Be
Pleased With Her) reported the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Indeed in dates there is a cure”
Dates are considered as a blessed fruit and it is especially consumed during the
Holy month of Ramadan. Also, popularly known as date palm (khajoor). After
daylong of fasting, Muslim break their fast in the evening during the month of
Ramadan and dates form an integral part of their meals both in the morning
(sehri) and evening (iftaar).
Many people think of dates, usually as snack or sweet treats, without any real
significant in a diet. However, this is not true, as dates are nutritional
powerhouse such as Phosphorus, Iron, Potassium, Zinc, Calcium, Vitamins, sugar
and energy.
Here are some health benefits of dates:
1. DECREASES HUNGER:
Dates decreases hunger of the fasting person and so he doesn’t rush into
excessive foods eating which cause digestion disorder.
2. PREPARE THE STOMACH TO RECEIVE FOOD:
Dates prepare the stomach to receive food after being inactive throughout the
day by activating release of digestive secretions and juices.
3. PROVIDE ENERGY FOR ANEMIC PATIENTS:
Anemia is characterized by usually low quality of red blood cells (RBCs) in the
human and is caused by the deficiency of iron. Dates are the perfect home
remedies for treating iron deficiency, it contain an impressive level of iron.
4. PREVENT ABDOMINAL CANCER:
According to a modern survey, it is now accepted that dates are useful in
preventing abdominal cancer. They work as a useful tonic for all age groups and
in some cases; they work better than traditional medicine. Since they are
natural, they don’t have any negative side effects on the human body.

If someone is underweight and wanted to be healthy, dates are probably just the
