What is Vitamin A: Vitamin A is a group of eight fat soluble compounds , four tocopherols and four tocotrienols compounds . Alpha-tochopherol is most active one in humans. Vitamin E deficiency may cause nerve problems. As an antioxidant, it prevent cell membrane from reactive oxygen species . This is found in many foods. It is also available as food supplement. Being a fat soluble compound it can be stored in body and can be used on need, thereforedeficiency is rare and usually happens due to underlying problem with digesting dietary fats rather than due to diet low in vitamin E Vitamin E was discovered in 1922 and first synthesized in 1936.
