Unveiled Veiled At Last!
(Hafiz Muhammad Noman, Karachi)
I along with one of my friends
entered university of Karachi at 12 p.m. I was shocked to see the unusual
condition of the university as all the girls were wearing veils or hiding their
faces and going fast here and there. I could not understand what had happened
that the girls took the veils and were in a hurry. Then I put a glance at the
places where couples used to sit and enjoy their gatherings. It was another
shocked for me when I didn’t find any couples as the places were empty! It
seemed that Taliban have occupied University of Karachi!
I was amazed and going to my department since it was my first paper of second
semester. Wherever I went, the empty places raised a question in my mind what
had happened at last! Meanwhile I felt that I was perspiring and the whole of my
body was wet and my mind was not working! Suddenly I understood the whole
situation as hot wind slapped on my face that was unbearable for me! Then I
realized what I was thinking was wrong! Actually it was too hot as the
temperature was 44 degree centigrade. The extremely hot weather not only
compelled the girls to take veils but also broke the couples’ gatherings and
emptied the places. I who was observing an unusual situation started to smile on
my own silliness!
