Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins

(Shahbaz Munawar Kazmi, Mianwali)

The book "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" is authored by American writer John Perkins who previously served as an Economic hitman in Indonesia, Panama, Ecuador, KSA, Columbia, and Venezuela. This book was published in 2004 and remained one of the best-selling books.

The book's introduction explains what economic hitmen are in reality. EHMs are handsomely paid professional men who betray and defraud countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars.

The EHMs are clever. From history, they have learned. No, they don’t have swords. They don’t have distinguishing clothing or armor. They dress like the local shopkeepers and schoolteachers in nations like Ecuador, Nigeria, and Indonesia. They resemble bankers and government bureaucrats in the US and France. They seem unassuming and common. EHMs claim to be selfless. They engage the community and carry out humanitarian activities
Which countries do they cheat on?
How do they cheat?
Why do they cheat?
How do they scam?
They worked for a corporation and those corporations built mega projects there in other countries like power projects, highways, ports, infrastructure, and other construction projects. They arrange loans for countries from USAID, the World Bank, IMF, or affiliated organizations. Their corporations get profits, Few rich families of that countries benefit and the whole country suffers. Rich becomes richer and  Poor become poorer. They put countries in debt that they can't repay. Companies demand to sell their resources at a cheap price. Sell your utilities, Schools, and jails to our corporation. They take military bases. Perkins charges that the proposed conditions for this debt forgiveness require countries to privatize their health, education, electricity, water, and other public services.

Which countries do they cheat?
Corporations look for the resources they want. They look for their interests. Like oil in the middle east, Oil in Venezuela, Oil in Ecuador, Panama Canal in Panama. In Iraq, they had an interest in oil. It is important for water and geopolitics. Tigris and Euphrates rivers flow through it. It is within easy missile striking distance of both Israel and the former USSR. It borders Iran, Kuwait, KSA, Jordan, Syria, and Turkey. It has a coastline on the Persian Gulf. Whoever controls Iraq holds the key to controlling the middle east.

Now imagine what will happen when the leader denied your offer.

People they called jackals should be behind them.EHM don't have weaponry but they have. For further elaboration, consider Operation condor. Operation Condor (1975–1989) was a United States-backed campaign of political repression and state violence involving intelligence operations and the assassination of opponents. to support right-wing dictatorship

The USA was involved in the assassination or overthrow of these leaders.PM Mohammad Mosaddegh of Iran, Ngô Đình Diem of Vietnam, Jacobo Arbenz of Guatemala, Patrice Lumumba of Congo, and President Salvador Allende of Chile replaced by General Augusto Pinochet supporter of operation condor.More than this, Jaimes Roldos and Panama Omar Torrijos were assassinated. They opposed operation condor. Both men died in airplane crashes in 1981.

In a nutshell, this write-up explains how America controls the economies of other countries and how they dominate them. How they trick them and ruled them . How they interfere in the state affairs of other countries. How they change the regime. How they get what they want. They build embassies to serve their own interests and they want to transform American republic into global empire. Perkins heavily criticizes U.S. foreign policy. Indeed this book is a book of secrets.
