My art journey

(Zehra naqvi, Karachi)

Hi,It would really mean alot to me if you read my story and feature my content on your site. You can edit it if I make any mistake since I am not a content writer. Also you can visit my art page and add pictures if you want to. Thank you.

My name is Zehra from Karachi, Pakistan and I am a self-taught artist. Growing up, I was always fascinated by colors, shapes and creativity. The very first time when I held crayons, paint brushes and color pencils, I knew that art held a special place in my heart. But since in our society art is mostly underrated so instead of following my heart, shaping my talent, I focused on my academics first. I had a sense of happiness whenever I used to draw or paint for my projects or assignments, I felt the most alive so finally I bought a small journal and started to draw in my free time. I gradually started to paint on canvas. I did acrylic painting, watercolor painting, abstract arts, calligraphy, pouring arts and even doodle arts and they all turned out pretty well. My family appreciated me a lot and asked me to post those artworks online.

As soon as I posted them online, I started to get orders. It was like a dream coming true. I can never forget that feeling of excitement and happiness I had when I got my very first order. It all started with a simple doodle on the corner of my notebook gradually evolving into different art forms. Today, my art has its own small identity on Instagram as (@artbyzn_).

This journey is nothing without its challenges. I had moments of self-doubt, I faced the time when I used to compare my artwork with others and get demotivated, I had those crying sessions when I get any hate comment, I also got scammed by some clients. I even make mistakes in the start as I don’t know how to deal with clients, how to ship a painting but it is through these challenges and mistakes that I have learned a lot. From the early encounters with brushes, to the development of my art each step along this path has shaped me as an artist. I’m grateful for the moments of appreciation and support from every individual. Thankyou for reading my story!
