Wounded Serpent
(Dilpazir Ahmed, Rawalpindi)
The recent terrorist attack in Khuzdar, Balochistan—carried out using an Indian-made drone and military-grade explosives—is clear evidence that India is not only sponsoring terrorism within Pakistan but also immediately launches a narrative war through its media. Just 13 minutes after the attack, Indian news channels began issuing threats in provocative language: *"Now India will teach Pakistan a lesson!"* The question is: if Pakistan was the victim of terrorism, then why is India making threats?
This is not the first time. Indian intelligence agency RAW has long been backing proxy groups like the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to spread chaos within Pakistan. The arrest and confessional statement of Kulbhushan Jadhav stand as living proof of India’s interference—evidence that Pakistan has already presented to the international community. Yet, the world’s pointed silence grows increasingly dangerous for this region.
History shows that India used similar tactics to dismember East Pakistan in 1971. Today, the same policy is being applied against Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
In the midst of this, the snake charmers of this region share a timeless truth:
The head of a wounded serpent must be crushed.
India’s strategy of attacking while simultaneously blaming others resembles that of a wounded serpent—still determined to spread its venom. A *British journal* recently wrote that there exists a *real and present danger of another war between Pakistan and India*. But this time, if war breaks out, Pakistan will not shy away from **crushing the serpent’s head.
Pakistan has always advocated for peace, for dialogue, for respect of international law. But when attacks like Khuzdar occur, when schools are targeted, when innocent civilians are martyred—then silence becomes a crime.
It is time for Pakistan to move beyond a purely defensive posture. On the diplomatic, military, and informational fronts, Pakistan must now expose India’s state-sponsored terrorism with full force. The UN, OIC, and human rights organizations must be told plainly who the true architect of instability in South Asia is.
Does India truly believe that it can inflict wound after wound, and Pakistan will continue to merely bandage the pain? No! The sharpness of Pakistan’s narrative will now match the edge of the sword. Because sparing a wounded serpent only gives birth to a more venomous generation.
This is a battle of narratives, where silence is defeat and truth is the weapon. And if there is war again, justice will not only be seen at the table—but also on the battlefield.
