In an atmosphere marked by clarity of purpose and thoughtful exchange, a constructive interaction took place between media leadership and institutional command, reflecting the growing importance of youth-centric narratives, responsible communication, and strategic vision in the contemporary information environment.

The meeting was held between Qurat ul Ain Ali Khawaja, Chairperson of the All Pakistan Media Council, Islamabad (APMC), and Sector Commander AJK/GB Brig. Tariq Sohail focusing on leadership, media responsibility, youth engagement, and strategic perspectives on Kashmir. The engagement reflected the value of dialogue between national institutions and media platforms in addressing complex regional and narrative challenges.

Belonging to Kashmir and actively engaged in youth-led social and media initiatives since 2017, Chairperson APMC brings a perspective shaped by grassroots engagement and academic inquiry. With a background in leadership studies, she emphasized the need for narratives that are informed, ethical, and aligned with long-term national interests.

During the discussion, Chairperson APMC Ms. Qurat ul ain Ali Khawaja appreciated Sec Commander. Brig. Tariq Sohail’s vision and leadership approach, noting his emphasis on institutional coherence, constructive engagement, and disciplined communication in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, mainly the interaction of Sec Commander with students to build their confidence. She congrats ISPR to conduct successful Internships since last years which improve the learning of students from different fields of studies under one platform. She observed that leadership which combines operational clarity with thoughtful public outreach strengthens trust and reinforces institutional credibility.

“In an era of rapid information flow, leadership is defined not only by command but by the ability to guide narratives with responsibility, foresight, and restraint,” remarked.

A significant portion of the dialogue focused on Kashmir as both a strategic and humanitarian concern. Chairperson APMC stressed that credible international engagement requires consistency, factual clarity, and principled advocacy, cautioning that fragmented or emotionally driven narratives often dilute long-term objectives.

The discussion also highlighted youth as a strategic national asset. Ms. Qurat ul ain underlined the importance of equipping young voices with direction, critical thinking, and ethical leadership so they may contribute constructively to national discourse rather than becoming vulnerable to misinformation.

“When youth are guided through purpose and credible platforms, they emerge as stabilising contributors to dialogue and understanding,” she noted.

Both sides acknowledged the evolving challenges posed by misinformation and reaffirmed the importance of responsible journalism, institutional harmony, and sustained professional engagement between media and state institutions.

The meeting concluded on a positive and forward-looking note, with an emphasis on continued dialogue, mutual understanding, and collaborative efforts to promote informed perspectives on Kashmir, youth empowerment, and responsible communication.
