Nowadays Lyari is not known as
a town of Karachi. It is known as the territory of the terrorists. Where ever we
see we find people pursuing negative thoughts about one of the oldest area of
Karachi. I agree that due to the corrupt people and wrong policies many things
went wrong for Lyari and that generates the everlasting effects on the nation’s
mind.
I just want to share my daily life experience to you. I am a student of Mass
Communication(Evening Program) in Karachi university. I have to travel daily
from Lyari to Karachi University and Karachi University to Lyari respectively.
Traveling from Lyari to K.U is not a problem but from K.U to Lyari is a big
problem atleast for me. It’s not that it’s a long trip the problem is that it’s
a night trip.
80% of the street crimes in Karachi held at night so it’s the ideal time for the
snatchers or criminals to exercise their criminal power over innocent civilians.
When I get into the bus from silver jublee gate. All those faces who comes in
front of me they seems to be suspicious.
Specially while traveling from K.U to NIPA and from NIPA to Purani Sabzimandi.
Because after that the bus gets over load by the people and the chances of
snatching get finished. But once the bus enters the Tower area it again seems to
be the dangerous side for me and ideal side for the criminals.
I daily have to go from this psychological tension. But once the bus enters in
Lyari I get totally relax because Lyari is my home and it’s nothing better and
secure place than home for everyone. I know that many of you will disagree that
Lyari is a secure place but I just want to say that Lyari is not a problem
system is a main problem. The negative minds and some guilty people makes Lyari
a sign of terror. But for me Lyari is my home and the most secure place for me.
