Chris Gayle, who plays
international cricket for the West Indies, is one of the only four players who
scored two triple centuries in test cricket. He is known as a big hitter and
entertainer, including in 2012 the first ever off the first ball of test match.
Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore he scored the fastest century across any
format from just 30 balls and highest individual score 175 runs in an inning in
T20 cricket.
He is third West Indian to score 1000 runs in a calendar year. He is one of only
six players in One Day International history to have three or more scores of
150.
He scored 317 matches saving a first ever triple century against South Africa.
Gayle scored the fifth century in test match history against Australia in just
70 balls. He becomes the fourth cricketer to score two triple centuries in test
cricket after Bradman and Brain Lara and Sehwag.
In Twenty 20, set the first
record for the highest inning in T20,scoring 117 against South Africa in 2007
world T20 and made him the first batsmen to score a century in each of
International Cricket’s three formats.
Gayle broke the fastest century in IPL history and the whole of professional
Cricket by scoring a century in just 30 balls in IPL 2013 on 31st March, broke
the record of highest individual score in IPL history scoring unbeaten 175 runs
and also broke the record of most numbers of sixes in IPL inning, hitting 17
sixes in the match..
