(wajiha sadaqat ali, karachi)

These days it is a common practice to see children a few months old to 12 yeas old in cinema halls either with friends or family watching movies. But what is increasingly disturbing is the absolute lack of monitoring or censorship in letting these kids watch movies.Indians Films like Nautanki Saala , Aurangzeb etc have a fair bit of intimate scenes which as an academician. I believe they should not be allowed to see. We face problems in educational institutions with increased physical contact and intimacy among 12 and 13 years olds. How can such movies be giver U.A certificate? How do parents allow children to watch such movies? It also seem to be the norm when it comes to watching television serials. There is a time, place and stage for everything. Are there no rules, taboos for children?if curiosity gets the better of the children. I believe even theaters owners are also not comfortable with children watching such movies. can we have some guidelines here?
