Degree Vs Employers Benchmark & Career Growth

(Abdul Rehman Ansari, Lahore)

Hello & Hi….

Hope you will be fine and having a great day ahead. This is Abdul Rehman Ansari EX-VU Student, I have done MBA Marketing 3.5 years (96 Credit Hours) equivalent to MS/M.Phill and now working as Trade Marketing Manager is one of the leading company of PAKISTAN. Expert in Marketing Management, Marketing, Market Consultancy, Trade Relations, Business Presentations, Retail Activation, Brand Management, Customer Relationship Management, Distribution Operations, BTL Activation and Project Management.

After having some ruthless and optimistic experiences I decided to write on this hot issue. It is really a need of the time to elaborate these sorts of common problems for the current and upcoming students who are really looking for a better career growth and want to be recognized as successful in terms of achievements.

Students always feel disappointed when it comes to be short listing for the job interviews. A big question mark is raised on Students or other students who have got the DEGREE but still they are not good enough for selection.

WHY?

The most possible reasons that I have found, are:
•Huge row of DEGREE Holders, quantity is there & quality is missing.
•Education Benchmark & Standards
•Students Negative Approach
•Blame game on institute rather than be loyal and sincere with the studies.
•Employers’ negative mind set against specific institute & other distance learning resources.
•Copy Paste Culture
•Last but not the least skills development during the study course which is the main perspective that reflects directly to the professional career.

Some Ruthless Experience

While interviewing some students from University of Central Punjab, Virtual University, Hajvery University, Minhaj University, Leads University and Preston University. I was repeating 1 simple question from all the contestants that what is sale?

Almost all the students were MBA Marketing but no one was able to answer this question even they have got the DEGREE of MBA with majors of Marketing but don’t know the bloody definition of sales. Even some of them were answering that Cheezon ko bechna is called sales.. that was deadly horrible.

What we are lacking and why we have planted ourselves in a situation like that?
•Always remember that the DEGREE only will lead you to the table of interview.
•Once you have reached there you should be able to what your stats and academic certificates are reflecting.
•You should be able to what you have written in your resume.
•One should be focused on quality learning and skills development that he/she will have to display to get a good job, to build up the quality image and to present the institution with positive values and traits.

How to win employers & get the good remarks?
•Make yourself different from others, unique amongst hundreds and thousands.
•You can only do that by grooming your communication skills, presentations skills, confidence level, strive to deliver the best, lust for moving forward in professional life with hardworking, loyalty and sincerity.
•Always prepare yourself for the interview, read thoroughly about the company history, vision and mission of the company, last 5 to 1o years standings, designation requirement and job description and more importantly your spoken.
•Remember always, students are the image of the institutes if you are strong and good enough ultimately it will reflect your institute.

Skill Development Techniques
•Dear students your final project of the study is very important aspect as far as skill development is concern in which you learn the many quality delights.
•Always perform this practical part of your studies with wholeheartedly, no matter if you face the failures but remember these failures will polish your talent and will let you win the future battles of cruel business world.
•Be aware with the happenings of your surroundings that let you learn every moment.
•Write your own SWOT Analysis after every month and make comparison.

How to Achieve Excellence?

It will only come your way by commitment to be excellent, commitment to be excellent and commitment to be excellent.

In the end I would like to quote interesting quotations of “IMAM GHAZALI”
''Sub insan murda hain, zinda wo hain jo ilm walay hain”
&
“Sub ilm walay soye huwe hain, baydaar wo hein jo amal walay hain”
&
“Tamam amal wale ghatay mein hain, faiday main wo hain jo ikhlas walay hain”
&
“Sub ikhlas walay khatray mein hain, sirf wo Kamyab hain jo takuber se pak hein”

Anyone can write me for any kind of guidance, feedback or consultancy for getting a good career growth and achieving excellence in all aspects. Wish you best of luck…….
