Lack of Transportation for Evening students of University of Karachi

University of Karachi is the second largest university in Pakistan and is spread
over an area of 1279 acres of land. The University of Karachi has a status of
excellence at all levels of higher education. It was ranked among the top 400
institutions in the world in subjects of Arts, Humanities, Social sciences and
Life sciences. Currently it has 6 different faculties namely, Arts, Science,
Pharmacy, Engineering, Management and Administration Science, Islamic studies.
Currently University of Karachi has more than 25,000 students studying in
morning and evening programs. Being a student of evening program at university
of Karachi, we face the problem of lack of transportation. Students living in
almost all areas of Karachi study at university of Karachi. The traffic problems
like busy roads, CNG strikes, uncertain law and order situation of the city and
etc make it even more challenging for the students to attend university
regularly and on time. The students who are lucky enough to get into the points
find it really difficult to find a seat or a comfortable position to even stand.
The proportion of students to available points is extremely terrible. Moreover
the condition of the points is dreadful, Student find it unsecure to travel in
ill conditioned points. It is also quite unsafe for evening students to be
chasing after public transport at late evening hours at the time of returning to
their homes.
You are therefore kindly requested to draw the attention of the authorities
concerned to look into this matter and start a proper van service and renew our
old points.
