Obese consider breakfast as a
useless and avoidable part of the daily diet and usually tend to skip it. First
chance to get fuel inside the body is the first diet of the day, but people
don’t bother about proper starting meal of the day. Research has proven that
taking balanced breakfast is not only an incomparable and paramount remedy to
get rid of fats and obesity but it also works in prevention and control of
hypertension, heart diseases and diabetes. Skipping the breakfast is the biggest
mistake done by various people quite often.
In early morning due to overnight fast, blood sugar level is already low and
when diabetics don’t take proper breakfast in order to maintain blood sugar
level, they become hypoglycemic. Due to extremely low blood sugar level,
diabetics feel too much hungry at lunch and dinner meals, and they overeat to
compensate. Diabetic should take breakfast rich in fats, low in carbohydrate and
intermediate in proteins. But if a person is non-diabetic then it should be rich
in carbohydrates, low in fats and intermediate in proteins.
Studies have shown that those who skip breakfast are more likely to struggle
with weight problems. At morning even after taking heavy breakfast, due to
working for hours till afternoon, calories gets burned. Eating a good breakfast
hampers the urge to eat sugary foods mid-morning, while those skipping breakfast
are more likely to snack throughout the day, thus increasing their calorie
intake, and in turn their weight.
Night meals should be lighter, as all the eaten stuff gets accumulated in the
body in the form of fats and it also raises the blood cholesterol level causing
atherosclerosis (hardening and thickening of blood vessels). It not only makes
the person hypertensive but also multiplies the chances of heart attack.
Eating breakfast reduces fatigue and sleepiness in the mid-morning hours;
improves concentration and problems solving ability, increases mental alertness,
academic performance and helps one function more efficiently.
A balanced breakfast provides energy for the whole day. In other words, a good
dinner or lunch can not effectively compensate for the lack of nutrients, due to
skipping breakfast. So start your day right. Make time for a healthy breakfast.
Don't leave home without it. By adopting a better diet and wiser lifestyle
habits, you can get on to the fitness track; live longer, feel better, and enjoy
a healthier, more productive life.
