Obama, Ford damage control needed

Obama, Rob ford both in Crises
This was the Caption of CNN headline news. What a pity that the most celebrated
US president is compared to Toronto city Mayor Rob Ford. Of course that Toronto
is the 4th largest city in North America but why this ruthless comparison.
Sometimes these networks behave sarcastically.
After the much publicized Obama care’s failure and glitches to the website,
President Obama is badly losing ground.
His popularity rating came down to 37 yesterday, compared to 46 last week. Does
the popularity rating matter for Obama? Not for Obama but for democrats in
Midterm elections and in 2016 Presidential elections.
Not much at all, he is already in his 2nd term one year has passed. In the
second term of Bill Clinton’s scandal with Monica Lewinsky surfaced badly .it
was the hottest topic on media and all the talk shows. In the end he apologized
for his misconduct. I was in Albuquerque, NM in those days when he visited
there. The girls carried the play cards saying, “if Hillary doesn't care, so do
we." In his tenure USA was on the top of its financial set up.
Any way Obama's affair is totally different, so far he has no scandal like that
one and seems like a quite faithful family man but his Obama care tarnished him
badly.
- Last week was one of the very worst weeks of Obama's entire presidency.
The problems with the Obama care website set off a Washington feeding frenzy.
His approval ratings are down, and he had to spend most of the week apologizing.
And then on Friday, 39 weak-kneed Democrats joined Republicans in voting to gut
Obama care.
America has the best health care facilities in the whole world but the most
screwed up health provider system. The Insurance companies have total control of
the health care system and at least 50% of the US population is uninsured.
I myself keep some sort of health Insurance while in US to be secured and
protected. Otherwise in case of emergencies the health providers would fleece
me. Therefore, I tried to enroll in Obama care right from its start in Oct.
after doing several attempts until now, just gave up. The application does not
proceed, the calls would not go through, and the chat agent is not available. It
seems that this website operating system is controlled by some unskilled third
world country. Is this a much publicized United States government website, one
cannot believe? Even a credit card company has more efficient website. In a
country where all the high-tech giants of Information Technology are sitting,
which itself has pioneered all these technologies and own all these, how this
blunder has been committed?
Even the initial signing up procedures didn't go through and it was not up to
the standard of every day’s website on which we sign in for various purposes. No
question of proceedings and signing up. After that failure I tried several times
but could not proceed further and just gave up. It is not only me; all over USA
masses are disappointed, frustrated and disenchanted. All the talk shows hosts,
news anchors and participants are making lot of fun and mockery of this
procedure and President Obama and his team is in big fix.
Rob ford the grumpy disgruntled Toronto Mayor was blatantly caught on cameras
smoking Crack and having fun on Halloween. He shamelessly accepted that it was
done while he was drunk. Toronto Police chief, city councilors all are
exasperated with ongoing silly actions of Mayor Ford. Embattled Toronto Mayor
Rob Ford shouted at hecklers and nearly knocked down a city councilor in a
raucous meeting on Monday as the City Council debated imposing further limits on
Ford's power. . Usually US media is not bothered about Canadian affairs but this
news got a great lime light on the whole US network and that is how he was
compared President Obama
After Obama Care, Rob Ford has become fodder for comedians and journalists
across the globe. Here are some of the best, worst and most shared media
reactions. Jon Stewart kicks off the show with an eight-minute segment titled
“The Crack-Smoking Mayor of Toronto Has Done it Again.” Stewart even sent a
correspondent to Toronto to interview Councilor John Parker and chat with a
staunch Ford supporter outside city hall. The Mayor did not resign yet but
promised to go into rehab and amend his attitude. He is now stripped of most of
his governing authority after admitting he used crack cocaine in one of his
“drunken stupors” — be deprived of a speaker’s platform? Should the crowd at
last Sunday’s Argos game have turned away from him? Should media mikes be turned
off for a while? Let us see if the situations improve for both of them.
