After coming back from absence of one test match, Freddie came to say good bye to Test cricket arena. He was average this time in 2009 Ashes except 2nd test match's 5 wickets haul. He was selected as potential match winner and his fans expected some exceptional and memorable performance before he gets his final aviation for his contributions for England in Test matches.

His first innings performance in final Ashes test with bat and ball were just below average. Every one was talking about Stuart broad's effort with ball in first inning. In 2nd inning of England he's out in 20s to get some quick runs. Now that 2nd inning bowling was the last chance for him for heroic exit. He got the new ball to defend mammoth target of 545, but luck was not looking good for him. Australia reached 217/2 and things started looking good for Australia, Ponting and Hussey played really well and England's bowlers were searching for a price wicket.

The moment came at Harmison's bowling, quick run attempt at mid on, and direct hit from Freddie's strong arm did the trick at keeper's end. Ponting was run out at the score of 66. After that wicket, Australian batting line up clutter like nine pins. This quote writes for the moments like this "You cannot take hero out from the game/ drama". He finished wicket less in second inning too but surely his throw will remain in the mind of cricket lover for long. Australia was all out for 348 and England won the Ashes back after two years.
